DFT - Applications and Definition

What is DTF printing and what are where can it be used?

DTF is a print on a plastic sheet or film, that has an adhesive powder baked into the back of the print, which is then heat transferred to a garment. It has become a go to method of apparel decorating thanks to the ease of setup compared to screen printing and other methods.

With that said, There is still a place for traditional screen printing, which becomes progressively more affordable with higher volumes.

We use DTF as a branding option on all apparel and workwear as well come caps, hats and buffs.

DTF allows bright and full color designs to be printed on demand and in small quantities, you order, we print and apply the same day. These Prints are durable and wash safe for around 50 washes, though they do not like a hot iron, so just be wary of that.

DTF on Cotton and Polyester

DTF takes to a large number of fabrics, so it's universal application makes it an easy choice for apparel branding. Our prints are semi flexible making them a find choice for light stretch fabrics.

UVDTF vs DTF

DTF is applied to fabrics and soft materials like cotton, poly, and blens where as UVDTF is applied to hard surfaces and used to label things like caps, bottles, boxes

UVDTF is not dishwashed safe, not is it happy to be handles harshly, some say it is, but we don't like the idea - it also will crack if placed onto a flexible fabric or substrate, where as DTF molds and flexes with the item it's placed onto. Think of UVDTF as a label, something you stick onto something ridged, and DTF as a print that become apart of the items it's applied to.

Quick prototypes

DTF allows for quick prototypes or one offs of designs. You just make sure the design is a high enough resolution, it has it's pixels are all in check ( no transparent pixels ) and you're golden ready to brand.
